OUR COMMUNITY

Child poverty in Memphis is 44.9%, while the poverty rate for people over age 65 age is at 15.8%. These rates are both higher than the national averages with Raleigh being ranked as the 16th poorest neighborhood in America. Feed The Block provides assistance to at risk people groups in our community by providing daily lunch/dinner and snacks for children & senior citizens in the Raleigh community.

LEAD ACADEMY

Lead academy provides internship and apprenticeship experiences for students 16-24 years of age that will prepare them for college and/or the workforce. Lead Academy also provides students with life skills training, Myers Briggs assessment, financial literacy and free ACT/SAT prep classes.

L.I.T. (LEADERSHIP IN TRAINING) DEPLOY

Deploy is an opportunity for college and postgraduate students to do short or long term missions within the inner city. Short term & long term missions are available in the spring, summer & fall. The opportunities for missions are more diverse than ever before — and they’re still growing. Whether you have two months to give, two years or a lifetime, God can use you on the field. This opportunity allows you to observe, learn and serve.

What are the factors that contribute to young people having opportunities for a high quality of life in our community? This question fuels the vision & mission of For The Kingdom and resides at the heart of our daily decisions. As the largest agency in Raleigh we recognize it is not enough for us to pop up and offer a few weeks of camp in the summer. Our vision had to be expanded to effect change year round. FTK exists to provide for the basic human needs of our neighbors, while also providing development, hope and Christ-like love for all people through camps, retreats, adventures and live events.
